Here’s how to workaround the iOS error when promoted with “Unable to verify account information” when you try to connect your iPhone / iPad iOS device to Microsoft Small Business Server. This error occurred after an update to iOS 8.1.3.



  1. Add the account as normal and select “Exchange” as the account type.
  2. After seeing the error “Unable to verify account information”, click OK.
  3. You will then be given the option to “Save” on the top right corner.
  4. Press “Save” again when prompted.
  5. Select the items you want to Sync between Exchange and you iOS device. Hit “Save”
  6. Select your newly created account, then click the email address.
  7. Enter your servers name. i.e. mail.<your domain>.com
  8. Enter your internal domain name.
  9. Enter your username. This is generally different to your email address.
  10. Click “Done”. Emails should now start flowing in.
