Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle perched on top of an edelweiss, in turn defaced by a Sturmabteilung (SA) insignia, flanked by an inscription of DER FHRER DER S. A. GRUPPE HOCHLAND (THE LEADER OF SA GROUP HOCHLAND), circumscribed by an inscription of WINTERSPORTKMPFE DER GLIEDERUNGEN DER N. S. D. A. P.
